Here we go…125 kilometers (I hope) of Hell.

So I’ve arrived in Grande Cache, Alberta and registered for the race. Bib #452.

The coin in the pictures below is the Death Race coin. It is to be presented to Charon, the keeper of the river Styx, at the 4/5 segment transition. The coin gets you a trip across the river and re-entry to the land of the living. The red stick contains the timing chip that you insert into the timing boxes at various checkpoints.

The pain starts tomorrow at 8am local. The trickiest cut off is the 3/4 segment transition at 7pm. If I don’t make it to segment 4 by that time, then I’m out of the race.
