Let’s Call BullS#!T

Check out this awesome Partners for Mental Health anti-stigma mental health campaign:

What’s your BS? Avoiding the issue? Picking on those who struggle? The fact that for some, suicide is considered a “solution”. And that getting no help is the norm. Thinking the depressed girl is looking for attention. Or the guy who can’t cope is just weak. It’s sad, but the more you look, the more BULLS#!T you’ll find. What’s yours?

My New Head

My New Head is an exciting initiative brought to you by the Canadian Mental Health Association and Healthy Minds Canada. My New Head encourages Canadians to own their mental fitness by learning new skills and creating positive changes in thinking and behavior.

Mind Check

Mind Check was created in order to assist young people to identify and understand mental distress they may be experiencing and to link them to sources of help that will enable them to learn skills and strategies to manage these problems. Being able to recognize early signs and finding ways to deal with them increases the chances of better long-term outcomes and positive mental health across the lifespan.

Health Canada – Mental Health

Mental health is a crucial dimension of overall health and an essential resource for living. It influences how we feel, perceive, think, communicate and understand. Without good mental health, people can be unable to fulfil their full potential or play a active part in everyday life. Mental health issues can address many areas, from enhancing our emotional well-being, treating and preventing severe mental illness to the prevention of suicide.

Provincial and territorial governments have primary jurisdiction for the planning and delivery of mental health services in Canada. The federal government, primarily through Health Canada and the Public Health Agency of Canada, collaborates with the provinces and territories in a variety of ways to develop responsive, coordinated and efficient mental health service systems.

Health Canada and the Public Health Agency of Canada support mental health research, develop programs and policies designed to promote and support the needs of people with mental health problems and disorders.

Major Depression Resource Centre

A website dedicated to providing support and resources to people in order to help manage depression.

Hi everyone,

I just wanted to quickly share a fundraiser for a friend of mine, Uliana Nevzorova. On June 25, 2017, Uliana, along with thousands of other cyclists will ride to raise awareness of mental illness in Canada, as well as raising $1,700,000 for mental health programs and services. Uliana is personally trying to raise $1000. If you’d like to place a donation toward this worthy cause, please visit Uliana’s fundraising page on Facebook here.

Good luck Uliana!
